Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: November 2, 2026 · Version 1.4
Introduction
Welcome to Major eLeagues ("MeL", "we", "our", or "us"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our platform, applications, and services. By using our platform, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not access or use our services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Major eLeagues, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which are incorporated herein by reference. Please review these documents carefully. By creating an account, subscribing to any service, or making any payment through our platform, you expressly acknowledge and agree that all fees are generally non-refundable except in cases of fraud, unauthorized charges, or as required by applicable law.
2. Eligibility
Major eLeagues is intended for users aged 16 and older. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use our platform. Accounts we determine to belong to a user under 16 are restricted: the account and its data remain intact, but access to the platform is disabled until the user reaches 16. If you are between 16 and 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction), you may only use our services with the consent and oversight of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms. You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater) to: (a) register for any tournament that advertises a prize pool, whether that tournament is hosted by Major eLeagues or by a community host; (b) hold, use, or receive funds in the MeL Wallet; (c) connect a payout account; or (d) request a withdrawal of prize winnings. Users aged 16 and 17 retain full access to every other part of the platform, including free tournaments, ladders, queues, teams, matches, and community features. By using our services, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements and that the age information you provide is accurate. Providing false age information is a violation of these Terms and may result in restriction or termination of your account, forfeiture of prize winnings, and reversal of any payout already in progress.
2A. Age Assurance and Verification
To enforce the eligibility requirements in Section 2, we operate an age assurance process. Depending on your device and platform, this works in one of two ways: (a) Device age signal: On supported operating systems, we ask your device to share an age range through the age signal service your operating system provides. Your device shares a range only (for example, '18 and over' or '16 to 17'). We do not receive your date of birth through this method, and we do not ask your device for it; (b) Date of birth entry: On the web, and on operating systems that cannot provide an age signal, we ask you to enter your date of birth once. We use it to determine your age band and do not retain the date itself. The result is an age band - under 16, 16 to 17, or 18 and over - which determines which features are available to your account. If we cannot obtain a valid age signal, your account remains fully usable except for prize tournaments, the MeL Wallet, and withdrawals, and you may retry the check at any time. Age checks are rate limited. Repeatedly submitting conflicting age information is recorded and may be treated as an attempt to circumvent our eligibility requirements, which is a violation of these Terms. Age assurance is separate from identity verification. Confirming that you are 18 or over allows you to enter prize tournaments; before prize money can be paid to you, our payment processor must additionally verify your identity as described in Section 19J. Where you have confirmed your age by entering a date of birth rather than through a device age signal, identity verification through our payment processor is required before the MeL Wallet becomes available to you. We may re-run an age check where required, and we may place a withdrawal on hold pending an age or identity review. You may re-run your age check at any time from your account settings to correct an inaccurate answer. An account restricted as under 16 cannot clear that restriction by repeating the check.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating and maintaining your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information. You agree to promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account or any other security breach.
4. Platform Services
Major eLeagues provides a competitive gaming ladder allowing users to create and participate in matches based on specific rules. Opponents choose matches based solely on visible match settings without knowing the opponent's identity or rank. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services at any time without notice or liability.
5. Match Acceptance and Rules Agreement
By accepting, creating a match, joining the queue, or registering for a tournament, you agree to follow all platform rules as stated. Match and tournament rules may change over time. Changes to game-specific rules are posted on the relevant game, ladder or tournament page and apply to matches that start after they are posted; changes to these Terms follow the notice and acceptance process in Section 12. Check the rules before you accept or create a match. Failure to comply with match rules may result in penalties, including but not limited to loss of rank, temporary suspension, or permanent ban.
5A. Tournament Registration and Participation
By registering for any tournament on Major eLeagues, you agree to: (a) Provide accurate team and player information; (b) Complete the check-in process as required before tournament start; (c) Be available and ready to play at scheduled match times; (d) Follow all tournament-specific rules, formats, and brackets; (e) Accept seeding decisions made by tournament organizers or our automated systems; (f) Comply with all reporting requirements for match results. Failure to check in, repeated no-shows, or failure to comply with tournament rules may result in disqualification, forfeiture of prizes, and potential penalties to your account. You acknowledge that tournament brackets, results, team rosters, and match information are publicly viewable on our platform unless the tournament is set to private mode by the host.
5B. MeL-Hosted Tournaments vs Community Tournaments
Major eLeagues offers two types of tournaments: (a) MeL-Hosted Tournaments: Organized and managed by Major eLeagues, with oversight from our admins and head admins. These tournaments are free to enter and may include prize pools provided by Major eLeagues; (b) Community Tournaments: Created and managed by community members (hosts) using our tournament tools. Major eLeagues provides the platform and tools but is not responsible for the administration, prize distribution, or any external arrangements made by community tournament hosts. Our platform does not provide payment processing functionality for community tournaments. If hosts arrange entry fees or prize pools outside our platform, these are entirely independent transactions that Major eLeagues does not control, facilitate, or have any involvement with. We cannot guarantee, control, or be held liable for such arrangements. Hosts are solely responsible for managing their tournaments, resolving disputes, and fulfilling any commitments they make outside our platform. Prize funding differs between the two types. Prize pools for MeL-Hosted Tournaments are funded by Major eLeagues and paid to winners through the MeL Wallet, as described in Sections 19I through 19O. Prize pools advertised for Community Tournaments are funded, held, and distributed entirely by the community host outside our platform; Major eLeagues does not hold, process, guarantee, or underwrite them, and no community prize money passes through the MeL Wallet. In addition, community hosts are solely responsible for verifying that their entrants meet any age, residency, eligibility, tax, licensing, or other legal requirement that applies to their own event and to the prizes they choose to offer. Any age check we perform is a platform-wide baseline applied to our own services; it is not a representation to a host that a given entrant is eligible for that host's event, and it does not discharge the host's own obligations. You participate in a Community Tournament at your own risk and on the basis of your own assessment of the host.
5C. Tournament Prizes (No Entry Fees)
No entry fees. Major eLeagues does not charge entry fees for any tournament, and our platform does not collect, hold or process entry fees or prize pools for community tournaments. MeL-Hosted Tournaments: Winners of MeL-hosted tournaments will receive prizes as advertised in the tournament details. Community Tournaments: Major eLeagues does not process, handle, or control any prize pools for community tournaments, and our platform does not provide any payment functionality for community tournament hosts. Any financial arrangements made by community tournament hosts outside our platform (such as collecting money from participants or organizing a prize pool) are entirely independent transactions between the host and participants. We strongly advise against community tournament hosts collecting money from participants or offering prize pools, but if they choose to do so outside our platform, Major eLeagues bears absolutely no responsibility or liability for any such financial transactions, prize fulfillment, disputes, or any issues that may arise. Hosts are solely responsible for any external financial arrangements they make. Age requirement for prize tournaments. As a baseline safety measure, registration for any tournament that advertises a prize pool is limited to users we have confirmed as 18 or over, regardless of whether the tournament is hosted by Major eLeagues or by a community host. This baseline does not transfer to us any responsibility for a community host's event: the host remains solely responsible for verifying their own entrants and for meeting every legal requirement that applies to running a prize competition in their jurisdiction, including any additional age, residency, licensing, tax, or consumer protection requirement. No purchase necessary for MeL-Hosted Tournaments. Prizes in MeL-Hosted Tournaments are awarded on the basis of competitive skill and performance in the tournament bracket, not chance, and no purchase, subscription, or payment of any kind is required to enter or to win. A premium subscription does not increase your chance of winning or the size of any prize. Prize eligibility for MeL-Hosted Tournaments additionally requires a connected and verified payout account before funds can be withdrawn, as described in Section 19J.
5D. Tournament Withdrawals and Cancellations
Player Withdrawals: You may withdraw your registration from a tournament before it starts while the tournament is still in 'Registration' status. Once a tournament has started, withdrawals are not permitted. MeL Tournament Cancellations: If Major eLeagues cancels a tournament for any reason, participants will be notified through the platform. Community Tournament Cancellations: For community tournaments, Major eLeagues is not responsible for cancellations. Any disputes regarding community tournament cancellations must be resolved directly with the tournament host.
6. Disputes and Evidence
All disputes require video evidence or other specified proof as outlined in our dispute resolution guidelines. You agree to submit only authentic and unaltered evidence. For MeL-hosted tournaments, disputes are reviewed and resolved by our admins and head admins, whose decisions are final and binding. For community tournaments, disputes are handled by the tournament host using our provided tools and dispute resolution system. For ladder matches and queues, decisions made by Major eLeagues regarding disputes are final and binding. We reserve the right to implement dispute resolution procedures at our sole discretion.
7. Cheating, Hacking, and Exploitation
Any form of cheating, hacking, or exploitation of platform vulnerabilities will result in an immediate permanent ban without exceptions or appeal. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for actions that compromise the integrity of our platform or negatively impact the experience of other users.
8. User Conduct and Restrictions
You agree not to: (a) Engage in abusive, harassing, threatening, or harmful behavior toward other users; (b) Use offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate language or content; (c) Distribute malware or perform unauthorized activities on our platform; (d) Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other user accounts or platform systems; (e) Use automated scripts or bots without our explicit permission; (f) Impersonate other individuals or entities; (g) Engage in any activity that violates applicable laws or regulations; (h) Upload, post, or share content that is illegal, offensive, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, invasive of privacy, hateful, racially or ethnically objectionable, or otherwise inappropriate; (i) Upload content that infringes on any third-party intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, or patents.
8A. User-Generated Content and Moderation
You may upload images, including profile pictures, team logos, GIFs, and background photos (for premium users). You are solely responsible for ensuring that any content you upload complies with these Terms and applicable laws. By uploading content, you represent and warrant that: (a) You own or have the necessary rights to the content; (b) The content does not violate any third-party rights; (c) The content does not contain illegal, offensive, or inappropriate material. We reserve the right to review, monitor, and remove any user-generated content at our sole discretion without prior notice. If you encounter inappropriate content uploaded by another user, you may report it through our in-app reporting system or by contacting support@majoreleagues.com. We will review reported content and take appropriate action, which may include content removal, warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination depending on the severity and frequency of violations. Repeated violations of content policies will result in permanent account termination without refund. We are not responsible for any user-generated content and do not endorse any opinions, recommendations, or advice expressed by users. Streams and clips. The same applies to live streams, replays and clips shown on MeL: use the Report action on the stream or clip to tell us about content that breaks these Terms or our Code of Conduct. We review reports and remove content that violates these Terms, and we aim to act within 24 hours of a report on content that clearly violates them; reports that need more investigation may take longer. You can also block another player from their player page.
8B. Inappropriate Content - Zero Tolerance and No Refunds
WARNING: Major eLeagues enforces a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate content. Users who upload, display, or share any inappropriate, offensive, explicit, sexually suggestive, hateful, racist, discriminatory, violent, or otherwise objectionable content will be permanently banned immediately without warning. This policy applies to ALL user-generated content including but not limited to: profile pictures, cover images, player avatars, team logos, team cover images, team avatars, GIFs, emojis, usernames, team names, chat messages, and any other media or text shared on our platform. CRITICAL: Users who are permanently banned for ANY violation of these Terms and Conditions (including but not limited to inappropriate content, cheating, hacking, harassment, fraud, account sharing, or any other misconduct) will NOT receive refunds for active premium subscriptions, unused subscription time or any other paid services or purchases. All fees paid are non-refundable when account termination results from Terms and Conditions violations. By using our platform and making any purchase or subscription, you explicitly acknowledge and agree to this no-refund policy for violations. This applies regardless of when you made the purchase or how much unused time remains on your subscription.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on Major eLeagues, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, modify, or distribute our intellectual property without our explicit written permission. By submitting content to our platform (such as feedback, suggestions, or other materials), you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, and distribute such content for any purpose.
10. User Content and Gameplay Rights
You retain ownership of any content you submit to our platform. However, by submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, and display such content in connection with our services. You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to the content you submit and that it does not violate any third-party rights. By participating in matches, queues, ladder competitions, or tournaments on Major eLeagues, you acknowledge and agree that we may monitor, record, stream, or broadcast your gameplay, match results, and related content for quality assurance, dispute resolution, promotional purposes, or platform improvement. Tournament brackets, match results, team rosters, player statistics, and related competitive data are considered public information and may be displayed on our platform and shared with the community unless a tournament is designated as private by the host but can still be accessed via direct link.
10A. Clip Submissions, Streams and MeLTV
You may submit a clip (a short video hosted on Twitch, YouTube or another platform we support) to a MeL match only if you played in that match, the clip shows your own gameplay from it, and you have the right to share it. By submitting a clip, you represent and warrant that you own it or have every right needed to share it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights, including rights in music, artwork, broadcasts or other third-party material. You grant Major eLeagues a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, embed, link to and repost the clip on our website, in our apps and on MeL's official social media accounts, and to use it to promote MeL. Whenever we repost a clip, we credit your MeL username, and also your linked channel handle if you chose to show it. This license lasts while the clip is on MeL. It ends when you delete the clip or your MeL account, except for copies we have already published on MeL's social media accounts, which we will remove within 30 days of your request to support@majoreleagues.com. We do not review clips for copyrighted music or other third-party material before they appear. You remain solely responsible for each clip you submit, and any claim about a clip's content, including a claim over copyrighted music, stays your responsibility: submitting a clip does not shift that responsibility to MeL. We may hide, remove or decline to feature any clip at our discretion, including clips that break these Terms or the source platform's rules, or that a rights holder asks us to take down (see Section 21). If you believe a clip uses your music or other copyrighted or third-party material without permission, you can ask us to remove it through the copyright notice process in Section 21. Featured lists such as weekly top plays are chosen at our discretion, and community votes do not bind us. If you link a streaming account and keep "Feature me on MeLTV" turned on, you agree that your live stream may be embedded and shown on MeL while you are playing in a MeL match, and that replay links to your broadcast may be shown afterwards for a limited time. Embedded streams and clips play through the source platform and remain subject to that platform's terms. You can turn featuring off or unlink your account at any time in Settings → Connections, and you can delete your own clips. When you delete a clip we stop showing it on MeL; reposts on MeL's social media accounts are removed on request as described above.
10B. Streaming Features and Suspension
We may suspend you from MeLTV and Discover, hide your clips, or remove a linked streaming account from your MeL account if you violate these Terms or our Code of Conduct. We may do this after a report from another player or following our own review. A suspension may be temporary or indefinite; while it lasts, your stream is not shown on MeLTV or Discover. You may appeal a decision through the in-app support system, and we will review your appeal. If your MeL account is banned, you are also removed from MeLTV and Discover and your clips are hidden. These measures are in addition to any other action we may take under these Terms, including under Section 11.
10C. Third-Party Platforms and Game Publishers
Live streams, replays and clips on MeL are embedded from third-party platforms, currently Twitch and YouTube. Watching them on MeL is also subject to those platforms' own terms of service and privacy policies, and we do not alter their players or the content they deliver. If you stream or post clips, you remain responsible for following the rules of the platform you use. We do not control third-party platforms and are not responsible for the availability of any stream, replay, VOD or clip they host: a platform may remove, restrict or expire content at any time, and a replay or clip may stop working on MeL as a result. Intellectual Property Notice. Call of Duty is a trademark of Activision Publishing, Inc., and other game titles and logos shown on MeL are trademarks of their respective publishers. Major eLeagues is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Activision or any other game publisher. Gameplay content is shown on MeL under the publishers' fan content and user-generated content policies.
11. Termination of Service
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to our services at any time and for any reason, without notice or liability, including but not limited to violations of these Terms or conduct that we determine, in our sole discretion, to be harmful to our platform, other users, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use our services will immediately cease, and we may delete or deactivate your account and all associated information and files. If your account is permanently banned or terminated for violations of these Terms (including but not limited to cheating, hacking, inappropriate content, harassment, or other policy violations), you will immediately lose access to all premium subscription benefits, and no refunds will be provided for any unused portion of your subscription period or any other fees paid. By using our services, you acknowledge and agree to this termination and no-refund policy. This policy does not affect refunds for fraud, unauthorized charges, or as required by applicable law. If you hold a balance in the MeL Wallet at the time of suspension, termination, or account deletion, Section 19O governs what happens to that balance and to the financial and tax records associated with it.
12. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Each version of these Terms has a version number and an effective date, and the date of the version currently in force is always shown at the top of this document. When we make a material change, we will tell you before or when it takes effect, by email to the address on your account and by a notice in the app. When a change requires your acceptance, we will ask you to review and accept the updated Terms in the app before you continue using MeL. If you do not want to accept the updated Terms, you may instead close your account (see Section 19O for any wallet balance). We keep a record of each version you accept, as described in Section 9A of our Privacy Policy. Changes that are not material, such as corrections of typos or clarifications that do not affect your rights, may take effect when we post them, and we will update the date at the top of this document when we do.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Major eLeagues and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, partners, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from: (a) Your access to or use of or inability to access or use our services; (b) Any conduct or content of any third party on our services; (c) Any content obtained from our services; or (d) Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
Our services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that our services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Major eLeagues and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, partners, and licensors from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees) arising from: (a) Your use of our services; (b) Your violation of these Terms; (c) Your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) Your conduct in connection with our services.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the personal and exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in San Francisco, California for the resolution of any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services.
Mandatory consumer protections. Nothing in these Terms, including this section and Section 20, waives or limits any right you have under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country where you live that cannot be excluded by contract. Where those laws give you the right to bring a complaint before a local consumer authority (in Mexico, the Procuraduría Federal del Consumidor, PROFECO) or before the courts where you live, you keep that right. If the arbitration agreement in Section 20 is not enforceable under the laws of the country where you live, disputes between you and Major eLeagues will be decided by the competent courts of the place where you live, under those laws.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The invalid or unenforceable provision will be deemed modified so that it is valid and enforceable to the maximum extent permitted by law.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Major eLeagues regarding your use of our services and supersede any prior agreements or communications.
19. App Store Terms and Platform Compliance
Our app is distributed through various app stores including Google Play and Apple App Store. You acknowledge that your use of our services is also subject to the terms and conditions of these third-party app stores. We comply with the Google Play Developer Distribution Agreement, Apple App Store Review Guidelines, and other applicable platform policies. The app stores are not sponsors of any contests, tournaments, or promotions within our platform.
19A. Premium Subscriptions and Benefits
Major eLeagues offers premium subscription tiers that provide enhanced features and benefits, including but not limited to: exclusive premium-only tournaments, enhanced player and team profile customizations (such as GIFs and background photos on player cards), and additional tournament hosting capabilities. Premium Plus subscribers receive the ability to host up to 5 community tournaments per month. Premium Pro subscribers receive the ability to host unlimited tournaments per month. This tournament hosting allowance resets monthly based on the subscriber's subscription start date and does not carry over to subsequent months if unused. Premium subscriptions are billed through our platform using Stripe as our payment processor. Upon cancellation, you will retain premium benefits until the end of your current billing period.
19B. Payment Processing
All payments for premium subscriptions are processed through Stripe, Inc., a third-party payment processor. By subscribing to a premium plan, you agree to provide accurate and complete payment information and authorize us to share necessary information with Stripe for payment processing purposes. You acknowledge that Stripe's services are governed by Stripe's Terms of Service (https://stripe.com/legal) and Privacy Policy (https://stripe.com/privacy), which you agree to by using our payment services. We use Stripe Elements for secure payment form integration and do not store complete credit card numbers on our servers. We only store encrypted Stripe payment method tokens, the last four digits of your card for display purposes, card brand, expiration date, and billing information necessary to process payments and display your payment methods. Your payment information is encrypted and securely stored in compliance with PCI DSS standards through Stripe's infrastructure.
19C. Subscription Billing and Pricing
Premium subscriptions are billed on a recurring monthly basis. The subscription fee will be charged to your selected payment method at the beginning of each billing cycle. All prices are listed in U.S. Dollars (USD) and are exclusive of applicable taxes. Sales tax will be calculated and added at checkout where required by law, using Stripe Tax to determine applicable tax rates based on your billing address. Subscription services are currently only available to users with billing addresses in the United States. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the subscription fee and any applicable taxes on a recurring basis until you cancel your subscription. We reserve the right to change our subscription prices at any time. Any price changes for existing subscribers will be communicated at least 30 days in advance and will take effect at your next renewal cycle, not mid-cycle. If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel your subscription before the new price takes effect. Continued use of the subscription service after a price change constitutes your acceptance of the new pricing.
19D. Subscription Management and Upgrades
You may upgrade your subscription tier at any time (e.g., from Premium to Premium Plus or Premium Pro). Upgrades are processed immediately, and you will be charged a prorated amount for the upgraded service for the remainder of your current billing cycle. Your next full billing cycle will reflect the new subscription tier price. Downgrades to a lower subscription tier are not permitted mid-cycle. If you wish to downgrade, you must cancel your current subscription and subscribe to the lower tier after your current billing period ends. You may update your payment method at any time through your account settings. If you have an active subscription, changing your payment method will update the payment method used for future billing cycles.
19E. Automatic Renewal and Cancellation
Premium subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at support@majoreleagues.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will retain access to premium features until that time. No partial refunds are provided for unused time within a billing period. If you cancel and later wish to resubscribe before your current billing period ends, you may reactivate your subscription without being charged again until the next billing cycle. Once your billing period ends after cancellation, you must purchase a new subscription to regain premium access. To cancel automatic renewal, you must cancel your subscription before the next billing date. We are not responsible for charges incurred due to failure to cancel before the renewal date.
19F. Failed Payments and Subscription Suspension
If a scheduled payment fails (due to insufficient funds, expired card, or other payment issues), your subscription will be suspended, and you will lose access to premium features. We will attempt to process the payment again automatically on the following day. If the retry is successful, your subscription will be automatically reactivated. If the payment fails on the retry attempt, your subscription will be permanently cancelled, and you will need to subscribe again manually with valid payment information. You are responsible for maintaining valid and up-to-date payment information. We will notify you via email and in-app notification if a payment fails. You may update your payment method during the suspension period to avoid permanent cancellation. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts with repeatedly failed payments.
19G. Refund Policy
Premium subscription fees are generally non-refundable. We do not offer refunds or credits for: (a) Voluntary cancellation of your subscription; (b) Partial months of service or unused time within a billing period; (c) Unused tournament hosting slots or premium features; (d) Dissatisfaction with services or features; (e) Account termination due to violations of our Terms, including cheating, hacking, inappropriate content, harassment, or other policy violations; (f) Technical issues or service interruptions; (g) Changes to features or pricing; (h) Inability to access services due to user error or device compatibility. If you cancel your subscription, you will not receive a refund for the current billing period, but you will retain access to premium features until the end of that period. EXCEPTIONS: Refunds may be issued in the following cases: (1) Fraud or unauthorized charges made without your consent; (2) Billing errors made by our system; (3) Duplicate charges for the same service; (4) As required by applicable consumer protection laws. To request a refund for billing errors or unauthorized charges, you must contact us at support@majoreleagues.com within 30 days of the charge with documentation supporting your claim. All refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This refund policy does not affect your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws. Purchases through the Apple App Store or Google Play. If you made a purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play, refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own refund policies, and you must request the refund from that store. We cannot issue refunds for those purchases directly. The rest of this section, including that fees are generally non-refundable, applies to purchases made directly with us.
19H. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If you believe there has been an unauthorized, fraudulent, or incorrect charge to your payment method, you must contact us at support@majoreleagues.com immediately before filing a dispute or chargeback with your bank or card issuer. We will investigate and work with you to resolve legitimate billing errors, fraud, and unauthorized charges promptly. We encourage resolving payment issues directly with us first, as this is often faster than the chargeback process. IMPORTANT: Filing a chargeback for valid charges (where services were provided as agreed) without first attempting to resolve the issue with us may result in account suspension or termination. If you file a chargeback for a valid charge after violating our Terms (such as being banned for cheating or harassment), we reserve the right to contest the chargeback and provide evidence to your financial institution, including your subscription history, terms acceptance records, service usage logs, and documentation of policy violations. Accounts terminated due to fraudulent chargebacks (chargebacks filed for valid charges in bad faith) will not be eligible for reinstatement. You may be held liable for any costs, fees, or damages we incur as a result of fraudulent chargebacks, including attorney's fees and chargeback processing fees. This policy does not affect your right to dispute legitimate unauthorized or fraudulent charges.
19I. The MeL Wallet and Prize Winnings
The MeL Wallet is a record of prize winnings you have been awarded in MeL-Hosted Tournaments and are entitled to withdraw. It is a ledger we maintain. It is not a bank account, a payment account, a stored-value or e-money account, or a deposit account, and Major eLeagues is not a bank. The following apply to the MeL Wallet: (a) No deposits. You cannot add money to your wallet. Funds enter it only when Major eLeagues credits a prize you have won or posts an administrative adjustment; (b) No transfers. You cannot send wallet funds to another user, and wallet funds cannot be used to purchase subscriptions or anything else on our platform; (c) No interest. Wallet balances do not earn interest and are not held on deposit for your benefit; (d) Not insured. Wallet balances are not insured by the FDIC or by any equivalent deposit protection scheme in any jurisdiction; (e) Prize money only. The wallet is not a general-purpose payment service, and the only way to take value out of it is a withdrawal to a verified payout account under Section 19K. Holding period. Prize credits are posted to your wallet on hold for a review period shown at the time of the credit, while we complete competitive integrity checks. Funds on hold are visible to you but cannot be withdrawn. If a review determines that a placement was obtained through cheating, collusion, account sharing, multi-accounting, exploitation, or any other violation of these Terms, we may cancel the credit before or after the hold expires. Currency. Prize pools for MeL-Hosted Tournaments are denominated and paid in U.S. Dollars (USD). Amounts shown in your wallet are the amounts we owe you before any fee or currency conversion your own bank may apply.
19J. Payout Accounts and Stripe Connect
Before you can withdraw prize winnings, you must connect a payout account through Stripe Connect, operated by Stripe, Inc. and its affiliates. Stripe collects and verifies your identity, your bank or payout details, and your tax information directly. We do not receive or store your full bank account number or your government identification. By connecting a payout account you: (a) enter into a separate agreement with Stripe (the Stripe Connected Account Agreement, which incorporates the Stripe Services Agreement at https://stripe.com/legal) and agree to be bound by it; (b) authorize us to share with Stripe the information necessary to create and maintain your connected account, as described in our Privacy Policy; and (c) agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it up to date. Verification. Stripe must verify your identity before payouts are enabled. Confirming your age band alone does not enable payouts. We do not control Stripe's verification decisions, and we cannot enable payouts for an account that Stripe has not verified or has restricted. Availability. Payouts are available only in countries and currencies that Stripe Connect supports and that we have enabled, and are subject to Stripe's own eligibility requirements. Availability may change, and we may suspend payouts in a jurisdiction without notice. You are responsible for confirming that receiving prize winnings is lawful where you reside and for complying with the laws of your own jurisdiction. Cooldown. For your protection, withdrawals are locked for a short period after a payout account is added or its bank details are changed. The period in effect is shown in the app. Managing your payout account. Creating a payout account, opening the payout dashboard, and disconnecting a payout account each require a fresh authenticator code (Section 19N). You may disconnect your payout account except while a withdrawal is pending or processing, or while a balance remains with Stripe. Failed payouts. If your bank rejects a payout, Stripe may disable your payout destination and withdrawals will be blocked until you correct your bank details. The funds are not lost: a rejected payout returns to your wallet or remains with your connected account.
19K. Withdrawal Requests, Limits and Review
You may request a withdrawal of your available wallet balance, subject to the following: (a) Minimum and maximum. Each withdrawal is subject to a minimum and a maximum amount. These limits may change, and the limits in effect are shown in the app at the time of your request; (b) Available balance only. Funds still on hold cannot be withdrawn; (c) Caps and rate limits. Withdrawals are subject to per-user daily and monthly caps, platform-wide caps, and a limit on how frequently requests may be submitted; (d) Authenticator required. Every withdrawal requires a fresh code from an authenticator app registered to your account. Passwords, passkeys, biometric login, and email links cannot authorize a withdrawal; (e) Review. Withdrawal requests are reviewed by Major eLeagues before they are sent. Submitting a request is not a completed payment and does not create an immediate right to funds. We may decline, delay, freeze, or reverse a withdrawal where: an age or identity review is outstanding; we suspect fraud, cheating, collusion, account sharing, multi-accounting, chargeback abuse, money laundering, or any other violation of these Terms; the request would exceed a cap; your payout account is restricted, unverified, or blocked; a competitive integrity review of the underlying tournament result is open; or we are required to do so by law, by a tax authority, or by a payment provider. Timing. Once a withdrawal is approved and sent, its arrival in your bank depends on your bank and on payment rails outside our control. A withdrawal shown as sent to your bank is not a guarantee of receipt: a payout can be returned by your bank after it has been dispatched, in which case the funds return to your wallet and are not lost. Fees. We do not charge a fee for withdrawals. Your bank or payment provider may charge fees, and currency conversion may apply. Those costs are yours.
19L. Adjustments, Clawbacks and Negative Balances
We may post an adjustment to your wallet to correct an error, reverse a prize credited in error or obtained in violation of these Terms, recover a duplicated payment, or comply with a legal or payment provider requirement. An adjustment may reduce your balance below zero. A negative balance is displayed to you honestly and is not written off automatically. Withdrawals are blocked until a negative balance is cleared, which normally occurs when future prize winnings offset it. Where a negative balance results from fraud or from a violation of these Terms, we may also seek recovery of the amount owed by any lawful means. If a prize was paid to you and we later determine that the underlying result was obtained through cheating, collusion, account sharing, multi-accounting, exploitation, or any other violation of these Terms, you agree to return that amount, and we may recover it through an adjustment, a reversal, or a claim.
19M. Taxes on Prize Winnings
Prize winnings may be taxable income where you live. You are solely responsible for determining, reporting, and paying any tax, levy, or social contribution due on prize money you receive from Major eLeagues, and for the accuracy of the tax information you provide. Stripe collects the tax information required for your connected account during onboarding. Major eLeagues, Stripe, or both may issue tax forms and file information returns with tax authorities where required by law in your jurisdiction. We may withhold a payout, or decline to enable payouts, until you have supplied the tax information that a payment provider or a tax authority requires. Because prize payments create records we are legally required to keep, tax and financial records relating to money we paid you are retained even after your account is deleted, as described in Section 19O and in our Privacy Policy. We do not provide tax, legal, or accounting advice. You should consult your own advisor about how prize winnings are treated where you live.
19N. Account Security - Authenticators and Passkeys
Two-factor authentication (authenticator app). An authenticator app is required for every money action on the platform: requesting a withdrawal, creating or accessing a payout account, and disconnecting one. Codes are single-use and must be recent. This requirement cannot be dismissed, snoozed, or waived, and no support request will bypass it. Passkeys. You may register one or more passkeys to sign in without a password. A passkey is a cryptographic credential: the private key is created and stored by your device's secure hardware or by your platform's credential manager (such as iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager) and never leaves it or reaches us. We and our authentication provider hold only the corresponding public key and basic metadata such as a name you choose, the date it was created, and the date it was last used. A passkey signs you in. By design, a passkey cannot authorize a withdrawal or any other money action; money always requires an authenticator code. Biometric login and passkeys are conveniences for signing in and are not a substitute for two-factor authentication on money actions. You are responsible for: keeping your authenticator and any recovery codes secure; removing passkeys for devices you no longer control, which you may do at any time from your security settings; and every action taken with a credential registered to your account. Anyone with access to your unlocked device, or to a device or credential manager holding your passkey, may be able to sign in as you. Notify us immediately at support@majoreleagues.com if you believe a credential has been compromised. Losing every registered authenticator and passkey may leave you unable to access your account or your wallet balance. We will help where we reasonably can, but we cannot bypass these protections, and we are not liable for losses caused by your loss of credentials.
19O. Wallet Balances on Suspension, Termination or Account Deletion
Suspension or termination for violations. If we suspend or terminate your account for a violation of these Terms - including cheating, hacking, fraud, account sharing, multi-accounting, harassment, or inappropriate content - you forfeit any wallet balance attributable to the conduct in question and any prize not yet withdrawn from a tournament affected by that conduct, and we may reverse withdrawals already in progress. Where a balance is unrelated to the violation, we will make a reasonable effort to allow you to withdraw it, subject to identity verification and to all limits in Section 19K. Account deletion with a balance. You cannot delete your account while a withdrawal is pending or processing, while an investigation is open, or while a negative balance is outstanding. If you delete your account while holding a withdrawable balance, you are responsible for withdrawing it first; we are not obliged to hold, restore, or later pay out a balance abandoned at deletion. Records retained after deletion. Deleting your account does not delete our financial and tax records of prize money we paid you. Transaction records - including amounts, dates, currencies, and the identifiers a tax authority, auditor, or payment provider requires - are retained by Major eLeagues, and the corresponding records of your connected payout account and the payouts made to it are retained by Stripe, for the periods that tax, accounting, anti-fraud, and anti-money-laundering law require. This applies even after your account, profile, and other personal data are removed. The retention periods and the categories of data involved are set out in our Privacy Policy. Dormant balances. Where unclaimed property or escheatment law requires it, a wallet balance left unclaimed for the applicable statutory period may be reported and remitted to the relevant authority.
20. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, you agree that any claim or dispute will be resolved by binding arbitration, rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if your claims qualify. The Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of this arbitration provision. YOU AND Major eLeagues WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY OR TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION. Any arbitration will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration may be conducted remotely, by submission of documents, or in person in the county where you reside. This arbitration provision shall survive termination of these Terms. Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek emergency equitable relief in federal or state courts to maintain the status quo pending arbitration.
Mandatory consumer protections. This arbitration provision does not apply to the extent it is unenforceable under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country where you live. Nothing in this section prevents you from bringing a complaint before a local consumer authority (in Mexico, PROFECO) or, where those laws give you that right, before the courts where you live. If this arbitration provision is unenforceable where you live, disputes will be decided by the competent courts of the place where you live, under those laws. See also Section 16.
21. Copyright Infringement - DMCA Policy
Major eLeagues respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA, 17 U.S.C. § 512).
Designated copyright agent. Send copyright notices and counter-notices to our designated agent:
Major eLeagues
Attn: Copyright Agent
Los Angeles, CA, USA
Email: legal@majoreleagues.com
Email is the fastest way to reach us. Please write "DMCA Notice" or "DMCA Counter-Notice" in the subject line.
What a notice must contain. To be valid, your notice must be in writing and include: (1) your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name is enough), as the copyright owner or a person authorized to act for the owner; (2) identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed or, if one notice covers several works, a representative list of them; (3) identification of the material you say is infringing and enough information for us to find it on MeL, such as the link to the clip, match, profile or page; (4) your contact information, including your name, postal address, telephone number and email address; (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the way complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and (6) a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf. We may not be able to act on a notice that leaves out any of these elements.
What happens next. When we receive a valid notice, we will promptly remove or disable access to the material identified, notify the user who submitted it, send them a copy of the notice (or a summary of it), and explain how they can send a counter-notice. Where a clip or stream is hosted on another platform such as Twitch or YouTube, we remove or disable it on MeL; to have the original removed from that platform, you also need to contact that platform.
Counter-notice. If you believe material you submitted was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may send our agent a counter-notice that includes: (1) your physical or electronic signature; (2) identification of the material that was removed or disabled and where it appeared before it was removed; (3) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification; and (4) your name, address and telephone number, a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. federal district court for the judicial district where your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, any judicial district in which Major eLeagues may be found), and a statement that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or that person's agent. When we receive a valid counter-notice, we will send a copy to the person who sent the original notice and tell them that we will restore the material in 10 business days. We will restore the material no less than 10 and no more than 14 business days after we receive the counter-notice, unless our agent first receives notice that the person who sent the original notice has filed a court action seeking to restrain you from engaging in infringing activity relating to the material on MeL.
Repeat infringers. We terminate the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyrights. An account that receives repeated valid notices that are not successfully countered will be closed, and we may restrict clip submissions or other features before that point.
Misrepresentations. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. If you are not sure whether material infringes your rights, consider consulting a lawyer before sending a notice.
Other intellectual property complaints. You can use the same address, legal@majoreleagues.com, to report trademark, right-of-publicity or other intellectual property complaints about content on MeL. Please describe your rights, the content concerned and where it appears on MeL, and include your contact details.
