This Cookie Policy explains how Major eLeagues ("MeL", "we", "our", or "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and in our apps. Essential cookies are always on; optional cookies are used only if you choose them, as described in Section 4.

When using our mobile application, we utilize mobile storage mechanisms to store small pieces of data on your device rather than traditional browser cookies. These function similarly to cookies by remembering your preferences, maintaining your session state, and improving your experience. Storage mechanisms controlled by us are considered 'first-party', while those controlled by third parties are 'third-party'. Throughout this policy, the term 'cookies' refers to both traditional web cookies (if you access our services via web) and these mobile-specific storage technologies.

We use the following types of cookies and similar storage: (a) Essential: required for the platform to work, including keeping you signed in, securing your session, navigation and remembering your privacy choices. These cannot be turned off; (b) Preferences: remember settings such as your theme and language; (c) Analytics (optional): if you turn on Analytics, we use PostHog to understand which features are used, so we know what to improve. It is off until you choose it; (d) Crash reporting (optional): if you turn on Crash reporting, error and crash reports are sent to Sentry so we can find and fix bugs. It is off until you choose it; (e) Advertising: if you do not have a Premium subscription, our website shows ads served by Google AdSense, which uses cookies. If you turn on Personalised ads, Google may use them to show ads based on your interests; if you do not, Google shows non-personalised ads, which may still use cookies for purposes such as limiting how often you see an ad, preventing fraud and measuring ad performance. The AdSense script is not loaded for Premium members. In our mobile apps, ads are served by Google's mobile ads service, and personalised ads are used only if you allow them (and, on iOS, only if you also allow tracking in Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt); (f) Third-party embedded players: when a page shows a live stream, replay or clip, it plays in the Twitch or YouTube player, which sets its own cookies and similar technologies under that platform's policy: Twitch, https://www.twitch.tv/p/legal/privacy-notice/, and YouTube and Google, https://policies.google.com/privacy. These players load only on pages where a stream, replay or clip is shown.

Some cookies and similar technologies on our platform are set by third parties: Google, for advertising (see https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads); PostHog and Sentry, only if you turn on Analytics or Crash reporting, acting as our service providers; and Twitch and YouTube, through their embedded players. These third parties may use the information they collect under their own privacy policies, and we do not control their cookies.

On our website, when you first visit, a privacy choices bar lets you accept all optional cookies, reject them all, or choose them one by one. Nothing optional is turned on until you choose, and rejecting is as easy as accepting. In our apps, we ask for your choices when you first open the app, and on iOS Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt also applies. You can change your choices at any time in Settings → Privacy. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we do not use personalised ads in that browser. Embedded Twitch and YouTube players are not controlled by these choices: they load only when you open a page that shows a stream, replay or clip.

Most web browsers allow you to manage cookies through browser settings. You can: (a) Block all cookies; (b) Delete cookies; (c) Allow only first-party cookies; or (d) Browse in private mode. Please note that blocking or deleting cookies may impact your experience and limit certain functionality of our platform. In addition to cookies, we and the services named above use local storage in your browser and on-device storage in our apps, for example to keep you signed in and remember your choices. Advertising services may also use pixel tags and, in our apps, your device's advertising identifier if you allow personalised ads.
